Aromatherapy
What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is a specialised massage using a blend of essential oils specific to your individuals needs. The pressure of the massage will be more gentle than that which you may experience during a normal full body massage. This is because the essential oils can have strong reactions on the client, and so it allows the body not to be overwhelmed. It is a very relaxing treatment.
What will happen during my treatment?
At your initial appointment, it will start with a consultation, taking into account any relevant medical history and concerns or problem areas which you may have. From this, a blend of oils will be made up which will benefit you individually. Your treatment will take place on a massage couch. You will begin face down and the first area to be massaged will be your back. Then the back of the legs will be treated, and then you will turn over and have the front side of your body massaged. For women, the abdomen is an optional area to be massaged. This area is not treated on male clients.
How can it benefit me?
The aromatherapy oils have the ability to bring about feelings of wellbeing. Aromatherapy has been used for thousands of years by people from many different cultures across the world. In today's fast-paced society, stress is a major factor in many diseases and disorders. People often look to alternative therapies to help them achieve a better quality of life. It is a very effective therapy for treating stress as well as many other conditions such as headaches and migraines, stomach complaints and pain or tension to name just a few.
Can anyone receive treatment?

How will I feel after my treatment?
After an aromatherapy treatment, most people feel very relaxed and either a bit sleepy or energised. For best results, do not bathe for at least 6 hours following your treatment so that the essential oils can penetrate the skin completely.
Some people can react to aromatherapy in a seemingly negative way (e.g. feeling tired, sick, emotional anxiety, headaches). These reactions will normally subside in 24 hours. Most people sleep well after treatment, but some find that their sleep is disturbed. These reactions are normal, and a response to the body ridding itself of toxins; they will normally stop after a few treatments.
